**Job Title: Operator Assistant**
Pay: $23 - $26 an hour
Shift: 3rd shift
**Job Description**
The Operator Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring production lines are consistently stocked with materials and in managing the loading and unloading of trucks for shipping and receiving. Operating a forklift, you will assist throughout the plant, transporting formed metal from the roll forming area to the secondary utility area and vice versa. You will be responsible for loading finished materials into the warehouse and onto trucks, as well as bringing materials to work cells, taking bundles from work cells, moving racks, and emptying hoppers.
**Responsibilities**
+ Operate a forklift to transport materials throughout the plant.
+ Load and unload parts from the production line.
+ Assist with setting up equipment and offloading parts from the roll line.
+ Use computer skills for inventory control and documentation of shipped and received goods.
+ Process paperwork related to shipping and receiving.
+ Use hand tools for loading and unloading parts.
+ Pack finished goods for shipping.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience operating a sit-down forklift.
+ Experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
+ Experience in shipping and receiving.
+ Proficiency in computer skills for inventory control and documentation.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Ability to process paperwork accurately.
+ Experience in material handling and inventory control.

**Work Environment**
Work in a manufacturing setting that may experience hot and cold conditions at times. While the environment is industrial, it is not necessarily dirty. Management maintains a laid-back approach as long as job duties are effectively performed. The company specializes in forming metal from flat-rolled steel for agricultural equipment, such as international harvester tractors.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shelbyville, KY.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
