**Job Title: Bakery Operator** **Job Description** The Bakery Operator position is an entry-level training role focused on running various pieces of equipment in production and packaging. This position involves assisting with the operation of machinery associated with production and packaging, with training provided by a subject matter expert. The operator is expected to manage proper weights, settings, packaging, quality, speeds, labels, and ingredients, and alert management if any issues compromise product quality. Safety is paramount, and the operator must not run equipment deemed unsafe. **Responsibilities** + Follow all safety, GMP, and quality policies and regulations. + Monitor product quality and ensure adherence to product specifications. + Assist with training and cross-training as needed. + Provide break rotations and lunches to employees when necessary. + Continuously learn about products and requirements to ensure proper production. + Maintain cleanliness of all areas during and after production runs, ensuring equipment, raw materials, and waste are appropriately placed. + Monitor finished product quality to eliminate defects and enhance production throughput. + Communicate actively with bakery team members and supervisors to resolve challenges and improve operational efficiencies. + Perform routine safety checks to ensure a safe workspace and promote a safe workplace environment. **Essential Skills** + Production experience + GMP knowledge + Baking associate experience + General labor skills + Picking and packing skills + Bakery experience + Warehouse production skills + Manufacturing industry experience + Food handling and preparation skills **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + High School Diploma or GED + Must be 18 or older + Ability to lift and push/pull 50lbs continuously throughout the day + Ability to stand for 8-12 hours a day + Willingness to work overtime and weekends if needed + Basic English comprehension (speak/understand, read/write) + Non-slip (oil/water rated) safety shoes required + Adherence to PPE/GMP requirements, including restrictions on jewelry, perfumes, fake eyelashes, fake fingernails, and specific clothing items **Why Work Here** The company offers a structured path for career advancement with competitive pay rates as you progress from entry-level positions to more advanced roles. The facility maintains a peanut-free policy, and employees must adhere to strict hygiene and safety protocols, including specific attire and equipment usage. The use of cell phones is restricted to designated areas outside the manufacturing zone. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sacramento, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $20.50 - $22.75/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
