Operations Technician
**Job Title: Operations Technician** **Job Description** The role involves handling and collecting blood from horseshoe crabs and processing it in a laboratory setting. Selected workers will receive training in all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), as well as general aseptic processing and disinfecting techniques. **Responsibilities** + Assist with the horseshoe crab blood collection process according to approved SOPs, including setting up and preparing the collection area, cleaning and preparing crabs, aseptically collecting blood, and cleaning and disinfecting the area at the end of the day. + Assist in crab blood processing according to approved SOPs, including centrifuging, pipetting, sonication, solution preparation, and cleaning and disinfecting the area at the end of the day. + Aseptically handle filled and unfilled collection bottles in and out of bio-safety cabinets (hoods). + Complete all required paperwork entries accurately and timely per SOPs. + Clean and maintain production equipment. + Tag crabs with US Fish & Wildlife tags. **Essential Skills** + 1-2 years of experience in a production environment or a high school diploma. + Ability to follow written procedures and carry them out to completeness. + Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and excellent attendance. + Proficient written and oral communication skills. + Ability to work closely with others to meet departmental objectives. + Competent computer skills. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in production, inspection, quality control, and quality assurance. + General labor and GMP knowledge. **Why Work Here?** We are dedicated to being the preferred global partners to the pharmaceutical, biotech, and nutrition markets. The role may involve long periods of standing, heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), repetitive motions, and exposure to chemical hazards. Daily cleaning with strong disinfectant solutions is necessary, and individuals with sensitivities or allergies to cleaning and disinfecting solutions should not apply. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 5:30 AM until completion, typically between 4:00 PM and 4:30 PM, working four out of five days. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Salisbury, Maryland. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.
