Position: Operations Project Manager
Position Overview
Specialty Program Group has an opportunity for a project manager within the Operations division to manage critical, enterprise-changing initiatives. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who welcomes challenges, and always drives for the best business outcome. Seeking a leader who will bring a perspective, contribute to the intellectual strength of the Operations team, and work with a mindset of continual improvement.
Responsibilities
Lead complex, high visibility initiatives, toward achieving business objectives.Develop in-depth understanding of SPG’s business goals to plan and execute effective project delivery strategy.Create collaborative environment among business teams, internal IT teams, and vendors.Hold vendors and strategic partners accountable for delivering the scope, timeline, and business benefits as promised in statements of work.Understand and anticipate the priorities of the business through building productive working relationships with SPG business colleagues.Manage key projects and make sure that key priorities, budgets, and deliverables are on track.Develop detailed project plans & status reports to guide clients, employees, project team members and partner vendors on commitments and revise in accordance with changing needs and requirements.Identifying and assigning project tasks based on skill sets, experience, and strengths of available resources.Monitoring and reporting project performance to ensure timely delivery.Collaborating effectively with stakeholders to achieve project implementation.Develop excellent leadership, customer relations and communication skills to consult effectively with all project stakeholders.Proactively anticipates risks, opportunities, dependencies and costs, plan resources, milestones, and deliverables to manage and implement projects.Manage and resolve the risks and issues effectively, using the appropriate project forums to escalate items as appropriate.Facilitate business and operational relationships between vendor partners and internal teams with effective and efficient communication to ensure accurate and timely project delivery.Provide analysis and recommendations to address challenges, risks, and issues.Qualification
BA/BS degree in Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience5 + years delivering projects in P&C Insurance industry.Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a challenging environment.Excellent communication, analytical, critical thinking, writing, and editing skills.Attention to detail and quality.Ability to apply common sense to complex challenges to drive to resolution.Innovative and self-starter attitudeProficiency in MS Office software, especially Excel, Visio and PowerPoint,4-8 years of Project Management ExperienceEnthusiastic about delivering business value to business partners and end-users.Customer centric mindset that anticipates business needs and responds positively to feedback.Ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex projects that vary in scope and size.Excellent at presentation and persuasion; know how to adjust message for the audience.Business process design and business analysis experienceJOIN OUR TEAM
