OPERATIONS OFFICER
Position General Responsibilities: This position is responsible for the overall operations matters and responsibilities in the Sidney Market Branches. This may include but is not limited to the reporting, analyzing, reviewing, decisioning, reconciling, and completing all back-office operations concerns regarding operations functions, processes, items and accounts for the Market branches in a timely and concise manner. This position will include other operational duties and responsibilities as required and directed. Employees Supervised: Overall management of the Teller and Customer Service personnel. Minimum Qualifications: + Strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service. + Ability to work independently and as a member of a team. + Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or equivalent education/work experience. + Three-five years previous bank operations experience. Dimension of Job: Operational Verification Functions: (daily per Operations/Managers guide) + Responsible for resolving and answering non post questions on a timely basis. + Pull NSF list, review deposits. send to Manager and submit returns to Central Operations and complete NSF fee analysis noting refunds etc. + Review large items for return endorsements and submit to central operations on a timely basis. + Responsible for kiting report review investigation and awareness to RMM. + Review and report daily closed accounts report and note any large closures or issues, + Responsible for exception and tickler report review & report missing items to RMM. + Analyze and investigate deficit balances and fluctuation reports daily reporting oddities to RMM. + Other reports as required or as necessary for mitigation of Bank risk. + Review, analyze and consider reporting information as it complies with Bank protocol. + Act on analysis suggestions and offer procedural recommendations that comply with adherence to process and procedures set by Bank and using sound judgment. + Customer Service Support: + Provide overall support in communications and improvements of processes and procedures and handle pro actively within Market and Central Operations. + Maintain effective lines of communication at all times with market supervisors and staff. + Convey a positive image of the bank at all times. + Support all retail market delivery systems offering input to improve functions. + Operational/Verification Functions: (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual/other per Operations/Managers guide: + Complete NSF analysis of waived fees and report to the proper branch managers. + Analyze and investigate large balance accounts $100,000 and greater monthly. + Review and report service charge waiver report monthly-report oddities. + Review and investigate bank controlled accounts monthly-report any oddities. + Review and report rate exceptions on monthly basis-report oddities/fluctuations. + Review Balance Booster Opt out accounts on a monthly basis-report change. + Review and complete Reg. D report actions as required on a monthly basis. + Analyze investigate and prepare quarterly certifications for wire transfers and collection. + Investigate and prepare semi-annual and annual certifications for safe deposit box inventory, safekeeping, and collateral and safe deposit box unclaimed property. + Review and update signing authorities on an annual basis as per Management. + Review and update Branch cash limits on an annual basis. + Pull CD, MM comparison rates and create report monthly indicating maturities/monies/movement for Manager/pricing committee. + Complete and submit rate changes to Central Operations as applicable for market per Manager. + Completion of monthly certification for all of the Market and other reports as required or as necessary for mitigation of Bank risk. + Review, analyze and consider reporting information as it complies with Bank protocol. + Act on analysis suggestions and offer procedural recommendations that comply with adherence to process and procedures set by Bank using sound judgment. + Central Operations: + Analyze and recognize issues with procedures and policies arising from front line services and other operation areas and review with Management and Central Operations to resolve those issues and address changes with Market Manager. + Actively manage operational risk from collection drafts and issuers to front line item handling in the market. + Work directly with Central Operations in timely response of processing of items and reporting functions. + Work closely Market Manager and Central Operations in problem solving and resolution of repeated reporting errors and regulatory issues that arise including any fraud alerts or fraud attempts. + Resolve other operations items and issues as necessary and directed. Security Officer/Regulatory training + Serve as the dual security officer for all of the Market locations and coordinate with corporate Facility/Security Officer and any "in branch" security officers. + Provide adequate security related training to staff that complies with policy. + Provide regulatory training to staff as requested by supervisor. + Coordinate with branch security officer as needed for security functions. + Item Processing/Teller entry activity/GL entry/Other Services/ Functions: + Responsible for periodic review of SCO items processed/reconciled at all market locations and SCO issues reporting/investigation and resolution. + Review, analyze, investigate and report recurring/odd/large Teller Difference on a monthly basis to Management. + Monitor, analyze and investigate clearing/non clearing of Cash Items on a monthly basis. + Monitor, analyze and investigate suspense accounts monthly for clearing entries/oddities. + Review, investigate and report any notable Misc Loss/ income accounts monthly to manager. + Audit and report to manager CETO cash to bank cash limits/ordering amounts/vault monthly. + Review and audit Official Checks and gift card inventory on monthly basis. + Review, correct and report issues on foreign processing/check handling to manager. + Review by spot checking and report large item deposits on a daily basis to note suspicious activity and ensure that teller supervisors are signing off on deposits.
