Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) sector is seeking an is seeking an Operations Mission Engineer - 2/3 to be a member of a cross-disciplined specialist team located in Aurora, CO.
**This position can be filled at a level 2 or 3**
This position is a highly visible position that includes frequent interactions with customers and working on a diverse team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Supporting integration/coordination within the customer and user communities and the program’s operations departments
Enabling information flow throughout disparate organizations to identify opportunities to leverage system capabilities to solve unique user challenges
Initiating conceptual studies designed to optimize nominal and emerging utilization of system data process capabilities, and developing the techniques to implement these capabilities
Developing recommendations for addressing operational shortfalls, including improvements for system data processing
Troubleshooting end-to-end data problems and providing an assessment of and identifying error sources in the end-to-end system, including developing processes and tools to minimize system errors
Performing ongoing system performance monitoring and investigating unexpected findings
Supporting system calibrations and system test execution
Providing an interface to factory subject matter experts for new system deliveries and upgrades
Providing feedback to factory engineering on operational priorities and objectives in support of ongoing and future development activities
Must demonstrate ability to work effectively and collaboratively within diverse, cross-functional teams, including partnerships with contract personnel, ensuring seamless integration and shared ownership of objectives. Must be self-motivated, capable of operating under general direction, and adept at independently determining and developing approaches to complex situations.
While this position typically follows standard business hours (Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), candidates must be prepared to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in response to emergencies or critical operational needs. During such events, employees may be required to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating basis until the situation is resolved. Flexibility and a commitment to supporting 24/7 operations during emergencies are essential.

Basic Qualifications:
Level 2:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 2 years of relevant professional experience within an engineering role OR Master's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 0 years of relevant professional experience within an engineering role
Basic understanding of digital signal processing and communications theory fundamentals
Excellent written, presentation, coordination, interpersonal, and communication skills
Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint to execute responsibilities as needed within the role (presentations, internal/external communications, data collection, etc.)
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Top Secret clearance, SCI Access and complete a counterintelligence polygraph examination prior to start date
Level 3:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 5 years of relevant professional experience within an engineering role OR Master's Degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) with 3 years of relevant professional experience within an engineering role
Basic understanding of digital signal processing and communications theory fundamentals

Primary Level Salary Range: $91,800.00 - $137,600.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
