FactSet’s Deep Sector Energy group comprises teams of curious, highly driven individuals focused on solving complex challenges in the energy industry. We deliver critical, timely analysis of fundamental energy data to financial institutions, power developers, utilities, and other market participants through thoughtful products and customized analytics. What You'll Do
The Power & Utilities Operations Manager will lead a growing team of analysts with direct oversight of day-to-day operations, workload prioritization, and rigorous quality assurance processes. The team’s coverage spans global power, utilities, and energy-transition datasets, including power assets (power plants, substations, transmission), utility filings, and emerging technologies such as hydrogen, carbon capture, and biofuels.
The manager will partner with subject-matter experts in the U.S. and Europe to identify and prioritize new datasets and to design, standardize, and scale operational processes leveraging new and existing technologies. Success requires clear, proactive communication across time zones and close collaboration with internal stakeholders to deliver timely, accurate outputs aligned to defined QA targets and client use cases.
What We're Looking For
Required Skills
5–10 years of experience working with energy-industry datasets
Proficiency in SQL; experience with Python is a plus
Demonstrated ability to lead and scale a team
Experience with major energy data providers such as S&P Capital IQ Pro, SNL, IHS, Bloomberg New Energy Finance, Enverus, or similar
Clear, confident communicator with experience presenting complex ideas to senior leadership and internal stakeholders
Desired Skills
Deep knowledge of U.S. power markets, with European and Asian power markets a plus
Must have good communications skills - written & verbal need to interact with external and internal stakeholders across time zones
Ability to mentor and upskill a team in both market expertise and technical abilities
Demonstrates initiative by utilizing existing tools to achieve objectives, while proactively identifying and recommending opportunities for tool enhancement
Analytical skills and detail orientation to ensure accuracy of data
Business process demands to work in night shifts
Willing to work extended hours as per the business needs (midshift/graveyard)
Driven by success, enthusiasm, and a desire to exceed goals
