Job DescriptionThe NOC On-Air Operations Manager is an integral member of Network Origination Center (NOC) On-Air team, which is responsible for the origination and distribution of our NBCU Cable brands and distribution channels, including Peacock. As a member of the On-Air team, this person should be well-versed in the intricacies of live events and how to plan for and execute them across all automation platforms in the NOC. The candidate should also be prepared to support the planning and execution of an enterprise-wide technology refresh of the automation system responsible for playout of our broadcast channels.
Responsibilities:
Plan live events for News, Entertainment, Sports and streaming propertiesCoordinate transmission feeds from fiber and satellite vendorsCreate Live event SOPs and operational guidelinesPartner with engineering to test all critical on-air systemsTroubleshoot issues (process & system), identify root causes, and proactively implement sustainable corrective actionsProvide support during outages or pressing system issues, including off‑hours responseSupport high‑volume and high‑profile operational days, ensuring reliable on‑air performance during peak activityWork flexible shifts—including nights, weekends, and holidays—to ensure coverage for live events and increased workload periodsQualificationsRequirements:
BA/BS in a related field or equivalent experience.3+ years of experience in broadcast or streaming operations1+ years' experience in a fast-paced environment requiring troubleshooting and process skills, and exhibiting an ability to effectively lead, prioritize and adapt to changing scenariosDesired Characteristics:
5+ years of experience in broadcast or streaming operations1+ years' experience in a leadership role in a fast-paced environment demonstrating the ability to effectively lead, prioritize, energize, and coach othersProject management experience. The ideal candidate has experience managing scope, schedule, and resources for projects and can effectively lead project teams.Technical experience with automated, real-time systems, digital video and audio, troubleshooting and test techniques A track record of meeting or exceeding performance expectationsExperience successfully communicating with stakeholders and management, both verbally and in writingExcellent interpersonal skills; able to communicate effectively with large team in high-pressure situationsSelf-starter that demonstrates initiative and ability to work independently with little supervision.Additional Requirements:
