Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of the plant’s leadership, supporting the Senior Director, Operations in guiding the team through commissioning of the new plant and beyond. As a seasoned operational leader, this is an excellent opportunity for you to take root with Richardson and use your operational expertise to drive change.

This role is open to candidates from across the United States who are open to relocating to Memphis, TN. Relocation support will be offered.

How you’ll make an impact:

As the Operations Manager, you will provide operational leadership for the facility, supporting our teams in producing quality products while ensuring alignment with Richardson’s focus on responsible and sustainable business operations. Key responsibilities will include:

Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and frontline staff

Oversee commissioning of the new plant to confirm operational readiness

Manage all aspects of day-to-day production operations, including planning, staffing, scheduling, equipment, cost control, safety, and KPI achievement  

Analyze data to identify cost reduction, process improvement, and efficiency opportunities

Foster a culture of safety and quality, ensuring compliance with regulations, standards and policies

Collaborate with finance to create and execute a capital budget

What you bring:

Demonstrated leadership skills, with at least 3 years of experience managing a team; experience supervising within a unionized environment would be an asset

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and progressive experience (5+ years) in manufacturing; oilseed processing experience and/or experience with plant commissioning would be an asset

Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

Sound problem-solving and data-driven decision-making capabilities

Safety mindset, with knowledge of health & safety legislation and food safety programs

Understanding of capital budgeting and financial reporting

Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems
