Summary: Manages all activities related to operations and development of company products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.\n
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned as needs arise.\n\nDevelops and maintains manufacturing operations business plans to include all program requirements, labor hours, cycle, production costs, and image.\nProvides input to the development of product strategy and research and development of new and emerging products.\nEstablishes production and quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered.\nProvides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs.\nEnsures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.\nCoordinates manufacturing activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, machines, and equipment.\nReviews production and operating reports and directs the resolution of operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.\nPerforms administrative activities associated with the effective management of shop operations, including compiling, storing, and retrieving production data for reports.\nDetermines responsibilities of assigned organization and staff positions to accomplish business objectives.\nTrains and ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations.\n\n
Supervisory Responsibilities:\n
Manages one subordinate supervisor who supervises employees in the Production Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.\n
Qualifications:\n\nWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel)\nRefined ability to delegate responsibilities and provide leadership and training to key personnel\nAdvanced written and verbal communication skills\nPossession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization and decision-making\n\n
Education and\/or Experience:\n
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and five to seven years related experience and\/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n
