Our client, a leading industrial distribution company, is seeking a Distribution Center Manager to lead day-to-day operations of a high-volume warehouse and yard. This role is responsible for overseeing productivity, inventory control, safety, and on-time order fulfillment while managing supervisors and frontline teams. The Distribution Center Manager will drive process improvements, ensure operational standards are met, and partner closely with senior leadership to support efficient, customer-focused distribution operations. Responsibilities: Lead daily operations across the warehouse and yard, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, inventory integrity, and consistent service levelsDirect and support supervisory staff and hourly teams to meet throughput, quality, and productivity targetsPlan staffing and workflow to align with volume demands while controlling labor costs and overtimeReview operational performance with team leads and develop action plans to improve efficiency and reduce lossEstablish and reinforce operational practices related to material handling, storage, shipping, and receivingEnsure facilities, equipment, and tools are properly maintained and safe for daily useMonitor inventory processes and controls to support accuracy and availabilityPromote a safety-first culture by enforcing policies, conducting regular reviews, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulationsPartner with senior leadership on operational planning, performance metrics, and continuous improvement initiativesAddress operational issues proactively and make sound decisions to keep distribution activities running smoothly Qualifications and Requirements: High school diploma or GED requiredBachelor’s degree preferredProven experience leading operations within a warehouse, yard, or distribution center environment5+ years in an operations leadership role overseeing supervisors and frontline industrial employeesStrong background in inventory managementExperience working in industrial distribution environments with high-volume product movementAdvanced user of ERP-based inventory systems and technology-driven operational processesProficiency with standard business software tools (Microsoft Office or equivalent)Demonstrated ability to improve processes while maintaining operational standards and controlsCapable of working independently while serving as a trusted partner to senior leadershipStrong decision-making and problem-solving skills in fast-paced operational settingsEffective verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organizationCommitment to maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient work environment Benefits and Perks: $100,000 – $115,000 salaryMedical Benefits HolidaysTraining & Growth Your New Organization:Our client is a well-established industrial materials distributor with a strong regional presence and a long-standing reputation for reliability and service. The base pay range for this position is $100,000–$115,000, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
