Operations Manager, Worldwide Operations

As an Operations Manager III, you will be responsible for leading and optimizing complex operational functions across multiple departments while driving strategic initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This hands-on leadership role requires both strategic thinking and practical execution skills to achieve ambitious business objectives through effective team management and process enhancement. The ideal candidate will demonstrate experience in managing cross-functional teams, with a proven track record of developing and mentoring managers to achieve operational excellence. Key responsibilities include establishing and monitoring KPIs, implementing efficient workflows, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with various stakeholders to align operational strategies with business goals while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Key job responsibilities Key job responsibilities • Support all safety programs and ensure compliance to maintain a safe work environment for all associates and managers • Lead and develop a team of 3-7 Area Managers (front-line supervisors) and 100-300 hourly associates while embodying Amazon's Leadership Principles • Serve as the primary information source for the team, maintaining compliance and consistency, and taking corrective action when needed • Mentor, train, and develop teammates for career progression, performance improvement, and recognition purposes • Execute daily capacity planning to ensure site success • Create, communicate, and maintain quality control policies and standard work procedures for Area Managers and associates • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives using Lean tools to enhance customer satisfaction • Build and deliver productivity plans by reviewing work forecasts, determining productivity requirements, and partnering with other Operations Managers to balance labor • Evaluate performance objectives and metrics to determine inbound and outbound productivity requirements to meet customer expectations for timing, accuracy, and quality A day in the life The day begins depending in your shift (day - night) with a facility walk-through and metrics review from the other shift. Leading the area manager stand-up meeting, align priorities with department managers and address critical issues. Throughout the shift, the Operations Manager (OM) balance hands-on floor presence with strategic meetings, coaching sessions, and data analysis. The OM monitor KPIs in real-time, troubleshoot operational challenges, and ensure safety compliance while supporting their team leaders. The day typically ends with shift handover meetings and planning for the next day, always staying connected for potential after-hours support. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience - 3+ years of employee and performance management experience - Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays - 3+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience - Minimum 2 years of strong operations management experience. - Minimum 5 years of operations management experience in manufacturing, production, distribution, or related industries. - Proficiency in data analysis. - Advanced Microsoft Excel skills - Fluency in both Spanish and English Preferred Qualifications - 2+ years of performance metrics, process improvement or lean techniques experience - Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, operations, supply chain, transportation logistics - Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, economics, engineering, marketing Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
