Responsibilities
• Materials Management
Responsible for the procurement, storage, and disposal of medical supplies, equipment and implants in an efficient manner to reduce waste and unnecessary expense
• Facilitation of Surgical Cases o In conjunction with Surgery Scheduler and Nurse Manager, facilitate the surgery schedule based on available resources, such as staffing, supplies and equipment, OR availability, the efficient use of the OR, anesthesia availability, etc. o Responsible for communicating accurate and comprehensive information to ensure the efficient coordination of cases; this information may include: correct start times. necessary equipment, staffing needs, necessary Implants o Determine profitability of cases
• Human Resource Management o Effectively build and manage a team of high-performing staff to deliver excellent patient care (Surgical Tech’s and SPD staff) o Evaluate surgical team performance o Maintain required competencies o Provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to surgical teams o Establish staff schedules for OR coverage based on case volume, available staff and case types o Provide breaks and lunch relief, as needed.
• Participate in Core Leadership Team (CLT) o Attend and participate in Weekly CLT Update Meetings o Disseminate information to staff o Participate in Policy discussions, review and revisions o Attend and participate in Quality Assurance Committee o Attend MEC and Board Meetings
• Operational o Drive standardization and implement best practices to achieve high reliability o Promote a collaborative environment to ensure teammates recognize how processes and systems affect the facility and the patients o Accountability and follow-through on commitment and performance goals for self and teammates o Coordinate, facilitate and manage change within the Center o Empower teammates to anticipate and exceed patient and physician expectations

Qualifications
+ High school graduate
+ 2+ years in ASC environment
