Operational Success Engineer for Manufacturing & Critical Applications

The **Cloud and Connectivity organization** is seeking an **Operational Success Engineer** to partner with teams supporting **manufacturing and other critical business applications** . In this role, you will be **accountable for ensuring the reliability, resilience, and operational success of IT infrastructure** that underpins applications where downtime, instability, or performance degradation can have significant operational or business impact. As an Operational Success Engineer, your mission is to ensure the **IT infrastructure aspects** of critical applications are **successfully implemented, operated, and evolved on reliable infrastructure** across network, compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud‑connected platforms. This role focuses on **proactive risk prevention, technical coordination, and incident leadership** , rather than reactive support or commercial account management. **What You’ll Be Doing** You will serve as the **technical success owner** for infrastructure supporting manufacturing and other critical applications, ensuring platforms meet availability, resiliency, performance, and security expectations. Working within the IT Infrastructure organization, you will: + Act as the **primary technical partner** for application and site stakeholders, providing guidance on infrastructure architecture, configuration, and operational readiness. + Proactively assess and manage **infrastructure health** across network, compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud‑connected services supporting critical applications. + Partner closely with **application owners, plant and business stakeholders, engineering, cybersecurity, and global infrastructure teams** to align infrastructure capabilities with application requirements and uptime expectations. + Serve as the **technical coordination point** for infrastructure engagement, ensuring application needs are clearly represented and addressed by the appropriate specialist teams. + Lead **proactive health and reliability reviews** , focusing on dependency mapping, trend analysis, lifecycle risks, and capacity constraints. + Coordinate **incident response and technical escalations** for application‑impacting issues, ensuring rapid engagement, clear communication, and efficient recovery. + Drive **root cause analysis and corrective/preventative actions** , working with engineering and service partners to reduce recurrence and improve long‑term stability. + Promote **standard architecture, repeatable patterns, and improved observability** to increase consistency, resilience, and predictability across critical applications. + Support **technology roadmaps and lifecycle planning** , guiding modernization efforts and preparing applications for future demands. + Provide technical direction and oversight to **internal SMEs and service providers** , ensuring day‑to‑day operations align with reliability and availability objectives. **How You’ll Succeed** + **Be Bold:** Advocate for the reliability and stability of manufacturing and other critical applications. Continuously improve reliability through standardization, observability, and disciplined execution while building trust through consistent delivery. **What You Should Bring** + Strong technical foundation supporting **enterprise or mission‑critical applications** , with experience in one or more of network, compute, storage, virtualization, and cloud‑connected platforms. + Proven ability to **lead technical coordination across multiple applications or sites** , driving consistent reliability and uptime outcomes. + Experience supporting **manufacturing systems and other critical applications** where availability and performance are essential. + Demonstrated strength in **incident leadership and escalation management** , including root cause analysis and follow‑through on preventative actions. + Familiarity with **monitoring, observability, and reliability practices** , such as health dashboards, trend analysis, and capacity planning. + Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks and recommendations to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. + A track record of influencing outcomes across **global, cross‑functional organizations** without direct authority. **Basic Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field with **5+ years of experience** in IT infrastructure, technical support, service delivery, customer or operational success engineering, or similar roles supporting critical applications. + Experience coordinating **large‑scale, multi‑application or multi‑site initiatives** focused on reliability and operational continuity. + Experience driving execution across global teams. _Qualified applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. The anticipated wage for this position is $64,500 - $151,800 Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
