Operation Manager I, ATS - Linehaul Surface Ops
Description Amazon – where builders can build! We’re looking for a smart, customer-obsessed innovator and owner to join our Operations Team Amazon is seeking Operation Manager for its Transportation team. In this role you will closely work with internal stakeholders - Fulfillment centers (FCs) and Sort centers (SCs), Last mile (LMs) for smooth management of surface operations across Amazon's middle mile network. You will be the first POC for any operational escalation and will engage with the right stakeholders to resolve the issue & prevent recurrence. You will collaborate with external stakeholders such as vendors and carriers as well. We are looking for individuals with proven ability to drive process improvements & ability to keep pace with our explosive growth while motivating others. The individual should have a can-do attitude and an ability to solve problems independently with limited guidance. Your role will involve managing operational metrics, lead continuous improvement process and cost initiatives, managing carrier relationships and plan for any changes in network. Key job responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1. Managing a shift, constantly identifying opportunities to improve team performance and owning associated change management. 2. Developing and/or referring to performance metrics to drive team performance and business results. 3. Identifying the business impact of trends and making data backed decisions. 3. Communicating with external customers (Carriers, Vendors) and internal customers (Finance, Ops Excellence, Fulfillment Centers) 4. Escalating problems or variances in the information and data to the relevant owners and following through on resolutions. Basic Qualifications - 1+ years of employee and performance management experience - Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience - Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel at an advanced level, including: pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, data links, etc. Preferred Qualifications - Knowledge of SQL - Experience in business analysis and functional roles, including requirements gathering, creating/deploying solutions to end users Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
