Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) – Fort Belvoir, VA
US Got People (USGP) is seeking a qualified Operating Room Technician to support our military service members, veterans, and their families at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Position Highlights:
Pay: $44.00/hour + Health and Welfare StipendBenefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and 401(k)Paid Time Off and Sick Leave availableWork Schedule: Sunday – Saturday in support of a 24/7-365 facility.Qualifications:
Education: Completion of an accredited program in Operating Room Technology or Surgical Technology.Experience: Minimum of 1–2 years of recent experience (within the last 3 years).Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required.Immunization Requirements (must be current or willing to update):
Hepatitis B (series and titer)Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)Varicella (Chickenpox)TB testSeasonal Influenza vaccineCOVID-19 vaccine (if applicable)Key Responsibilities:
Perform surgical scrub and circulating duties for procedures ranging from simple to highly complex (e.g., total joint replacements, craniotomies, thoracotomies).Prepare the OR suite, ensuring cleanliness, appropriate equipment setup, and adherence to infection control standards.Assist surgeons by passing instruments, holding retractors, and providing supplies during procedures.Maintain sterile field and correct breaks in aseptic technique.Handle instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with circulating RN; ensure proper disposal or return of instruments.Support specimen collection and documentation during procedures.Assist in cleaning/decontamination of the OR and equipment, and maintain daily logs per Joint Commission standards.Participate in stocking, supply inventory, and checking expiration dates.Support orientation and training of new staff, students, and reservists.Operate and maintain steam sterilizers.Participate in in-services, quality improvement initiatives, and performance meetings.Why USGP?
