Title: OpenBMC Engineer

Job Description:

·        Design and implement OpenBMC Core Infrastructure and Features for future server-class platforms.

·        Hands-on work with bringing up BMC firmware, performance analysis, and coding various manageability features for Server platforms.

·        Developing and reviewing code, writing and reviewing design documents, reviewing QA test plan, and working closely with all collaborators to achieve consensus for design and testability as per product requirements.

·        Designing and developing performance-optimized active monitoring BMC solutions.

·        Instrumenting code to ensure maximum code coverage, writing and automating unit tests for each implemented module, and maintaining detailed unit test case reports.

·        Providing software quality reports based on static analysis, code coverage, CPU load.

·        Assist and collaborate with other teams on bring-up/debug/diagnostics, firmware lifecycle, etc and influence hardware design and review HW architecture & schematic.

Preferred skills:

·        Domain expertise in BMC Firmware development on Server Platforms including BMC-BIOS communication, thermal management, power management, firmware update, device monitoring, firmware security, etc.

·        OOB or In-band System Management experience with exposure to standards IPMI, KCS, DMTF Standards (PLDM, MCTP, Redfish, PMBus, NVMe, etc.)

·        Knowledge of low-level protocols including I2c, I3c, JTAG, SPI, eSPI, UART, PCIe expected

·        Strong programming and scripting skills using C/C++, Bash, Python, Go etc

·        Strong in Linux fundamentals, various Linux distributions and packages, Linux upgrade mechanisms, building and deploying Linux images

·        Experience in developing to, or even contributing to, server specifications

·        Strong grasp of server platform concepts and design features/constraints
