Job Title: Electrical Project Manager

Job Description

The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for overseeing all electrical construction activities on utility-scale solar projects. This role ensures projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all electrical quality standards and regulatory requirements. The position involves managing the full lifecycle of electrical work—from planning and design through execution and commissioning—while coordinating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports.Ensure accurate accounting and financial controls for all project expenditures.Approve invoices, track change orders, and maintain profitability targets.Prepare monthly financial reports for stakeholders.Manage all electrical construction activities for utility-scale solar farms.Review and approve electrical designs, specifications, and installation plans.Coordinate procurement of electrical materials and equipment.Ensure compliance with NEC, local codes, and industry standards.Develop project schedules and ensure timely completion of milestones.Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates.Identify and mitigate risks related to cost, schedule, and quality.Supervise subcontractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to contracts.Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.Maintain strong relationships with clients, utilities, and regulatory agencies.Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.Conduct quality inspections and resolve technical issues promptly.

Essential Skills

Expertise in electrical construction and solar operations.Proficiency in construction management and project management.Experience in electrical inspection and understanding of industry standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in managing utility-scale solar projects.Ability to develop and manage project budgets.Strong leadership and team management skills.

Work Environment

This role requires onsite presence at greenfield solar farms 80% of the time. The individual must be able to move from project site to project site to track progress and ensure all electrical construction is being done correctly, on time, and within budget. The position offers a per diem paid at the GSA rate, along with a cell phone allowance and a company truck as part of the compensation package.

This is a Contract position based out of Edwardsville, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
