Occupational Therapist- per diem
PER DIEM ROTATING SHIFTS 2 weekend shifts per month and one major holiday per year Come Join Our Team!!! Under the direction of the Manager/Director of the Rehabilitation Services Department, the occupational therapist is responsible for providing, arranging for, teaching and supervising occupational therapy services through the process of assessment, planning and implementation. He/she provides advisory service to other professionals who share responsibility for patient care and participates in the development of the rehabilitation program. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION: + EVALUATION AND TREATMENT – Occupational therapist provides evaluation and treatment of approved practices, policies, and procedures of the Rehab Department of Ellis Hospital and New York State law. Demonstrates skills and abilities to assess and treat toddlers, school-age children, adolescents, adult and geriatric patients when employed in the inpatient and outpatient service area. + Provides approved documentation to appropriate authorities. + Demonstrates effective communication skills with all persons involved in patient care and/or hospital activities. + Assures financial viability according to standards of practice. + Demonstrates his/her commitment to professional growth and competency. + Promotes effective interpersonal and interdisciplinary relationships – professional conduct. + Adheres to hospital policies and procedures related to mandatory education, annual health assessment, and licensure verification. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: An occupational therapist must have a minimum of four years of education beyond high school attaining Bachelor of Science degree or Certificate of Occupational Therapy from a college with a program approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association. He/she must be licensed to practice occupational therapy in/by the State of New York. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Should be able to push/pull, lift/move 15 lb., be able to perform moderately difficult manual manipulations such as using a keyboard, writing, and filing for extended periods of time, must be able to perform tasks which require hand-eye coordination such as data entry, typing and using photo copiers. Mobility requirements may include the ability to be stationary at a workstation for a prolonged period time in addition to being able to squat or be mobile for a reasonable length of time and distance. Communication requirements include the ability to comprehend the spoken English language in addition to being able to communicate and read the English language. Salary: $50.00 per hour Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rate. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
