Occupational Health Nurse

Role Summary

The Occupational Health Clinic Coordinator supports daily onsite clinical operations focused primarily on Workers’ Compensation, employee health services, and case management. This role works closely with first responders and a remote Medical Director to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient care delivery. Patient volume ranges from 0–15 visits per day, allowing for a strong focus on quality, documentation, training, and program coordination.

•\tSupported by 2 EMTs during clinic operations

•\tMedical Director is assigned and works remotely (Trane MD)

•\tFirst responders provide support coverage across all shifts

•\tNo pharmacy onsite

•\tNo phlebotomy responsibilities required

Key Responsibilities

Clinical & Employee Health Support

•\tProvide frontline occupational health services with a primary focus on Workers’ Compensation cases

•\tPerform clinical assessments, triage, and coordination of care in alignment with Medical Director guidance

•\tAdminister drug and alcohol testing per company and regulatory standards

•\tSupport employee pre-screening, onboarding, and new hire health orientation as needed

Case Management & Compliance

•\tManage Workers’ Compensation cases from injury intake through follow-up and resolution

•\tCoordinate communication between employees, HR, the Medical Director, and external providers

•\tEnsure compliance with written policies and procedures, including ADA-related processes

•\tSign and adhere to NDAs related to Workers’ Compensation and employee health data

Training & Program Coordination

•\tSupport new-hire safety and health training

•\tAssist with onboarding workflows related to occupational health requirements

•\tCoordinate onsite wellness services and vendor visits (e.g., hearing and vision screenings)

Equipment, Safety & Quality

•\tConduct routine equipment checks, including EKG safety checks

•\tMaintain clinic readiness, supplies, and documentation standards

•\tSupport quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

•\tExperience in occupational health, workers’ compensation, or clinical case management

•\tPrior experience working in an onsite or employer-based clinic preferred

•\tStrong knowledge of workplace health, injury management, and compliance processes

•\tExcellent documentation, communication, and organizational skills

•\tComfortable collaborating with a remote Medical Director

•\tAbility to follow established protocols and policies with attention to detail

•\tCurrent State Licensure – Must have an active and unrestricted RN licensure in the state of South Carolina.

•\tMinimum 5+ years of experience emergency or clinical nursing experience preferred.

•\tMinimum 5+ years of occupational health highly preferred.

•\tCPR / BLS Provider certification required.

•\tProficient experience using outlook, excel, and other computer skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Columbia, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
