Occupational Health Medical Director with BJC Occupational Health Team in St. Louis, MO
Additional Information About the Role

BJC Corporate Health Services seeks a BC/BE Occupational Medicine Physician for the Occupational Health Medical Director position. This is an 0.2 FTE role. The Occupational Health Medical Director will provide overall professional leadership, direction, and coordination of medical services for the BJC Occupational Health team. 

 

This role will:

Advise and consult on recommendations from BJC committees to assist with injury preventionProvide standing orders for Emergency Care, Non-Emergency care and medicationsParticipate in Development of metrics and dashboards related to occupational illness and injuryProvide standing orders for vaccinations and titers for new employees or post exposureConsult via telephone with Barnes Care providers on difficult to manage injuries or situations for BJC employeesEstablish medical and educational policies and procedures for the provision of servicesPresent at Council for Occupational Health Professionals meetingsEnsures compliance with internal guidelines and external regulations

An ideal candidate will:

Be a strong collaborator with good communication skillsHave flexibility working with the Occupational Health teamWill have or be willing to obtain both Missouri and Illinois licensure

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Provides medical leadership and clinical direction. Establishes medical and educational policies and procedures for the provision of services. Consults with physicians and other health care providers. Ensures compliance with internal guidelines and regulations.

 

Responsibilities

Provides guidance, advice, consultation, and medical expertise to physicians, health care providers and staff members.Directs, creates and integrates the delivery of services utilizing the latest in evidence-based medical information.Recruits and retains a strong and growing base of internal medicine and primary care physicians (PCPs) who predominantly chose to send their patients to BJC facilities.Directs operations and integrates services within the work unit and with other departments.Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
