Observability Engineer

Job Description

The Position

As an Observability Engineer in Monitoring Services, you will report to the lead for Monitoring Services to develop a global monitoring and observability platform. You will ensure the technical solution aligns to corporate policies, processes, and other regulatory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain API integrations to enhance the functionality and interoperability of our AIOps and Observability Platform.

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines to support real-time data processing and analytics.

Automate platform operations to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver robust solutions.

Monitor and troubleshoot system performance, identifying and resolving issues proactively.

Ensure the security and compliance of data and systems in accordance with industry standards and best practices.

Continuously evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to improve the platform.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Required Skills:

Experience with Python and Javascript; additional programming languages such as Rust or Go a plus.

Knowledge of services like CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Lambda for monitoring and logging.

Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Azure Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with APIs and webhooks for integrating and extending monitoring solutions.

Required Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

At least two years of experience developing solutions with Python. Rust, Go, JavaScript or other programming languages in addition are a plus.

Familiarity with at least one monitoring tool like Prometheus, Grafana, Moogsoft, Big Panda, ELK Stack or similar.

Solid understanding of software development best practices, including version control, testing, and CI/CD.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and optimize monitoring solutions.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
