Nuuly is searching for a Director of Finance to join the team! Nuuly is URBN’s newest stand-alone concept. A subscription rental brand that leverages retail expertise built up over 50 years to turn the risk of potential industry disruption into a synergistic success story.

 

The Director of Finance will lead financial planning & analysis operations for the brand. This includes responsibility for reporting, budgeting, & forecasting, and overseeing a small team of finance and accounting professionals. Supporting URBN’s fastest growing brand, this role is a crucial contributor in evaluating where we are, where we want to go, and how best to get there.

 

The ideal candidate is a strategic, analytical, and detail-oriented finance professional with a proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally, prioritize independently, and intuit in the face of ambiguity. They will support all levels, from early careers to executives, in understanding and evolving the financial health of the business.

 

This role will report to the Senior Director of Finance.

Role Responsibilities Excellence in Financial AnalysisOversee monthly & quarterly reporting and analysis, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and appropriate socializationEnsure data integrity, determining when issues arise and working to resolve themEvaluate opportunities by building ROI models, aligning multiple teams’ inputs into a concise POVCoordinate the annual budget process, working to ensure teams plan for their needs in alignment with brand and company goalsSupport requests for ad hoc analysis directly, and through delegation to team membersAssist in maintaining long range forecastsOversee high level headcount administration and planning and for existing and future employeesExcellence in PartnershipCoordinate with brand leaders to ensure revenue and expense targets are met Collaborate with Logistics & other shared service teams to gather, share, and analyze dataBalance priorities by determining how team effort is best utilized to support the business Develop and mentor a team of finance and accounting professionals, supporting departmental growth and individual career developmentExcellence in InnovatingEvolve current processes and analyses for existing business channelsCreate new processes and analyses for emerging business channelsElevate analyses through adjustments that make outputs more digestible and actionableDevelop novel solutions to planning and analysis challenges Role Qualifications Minimum 10-15 years of experience in finance, preferably in retail, rental, apparel, or other consumer-focused industries.A strong interest and curiosity in understanding what makes the business work and takes ownership in how the management team can improve operations and profitabilitySkilled in preparing effective analyses and presentations with a clear narrative voice, compelling data and supporting visuals/graphsAbility to clearly present executive-level summaries of findings and recommendations. An excellent, persuasive communicator who can present complex information clearlyAdvanced knowledge of GAAP accounting concepts and theories and experience analyzing financial statementsAbility to work in a lean, action-oriented environmentAbility to forge strong relationships and work effectively with senior executives, finance peers and non-financial executive peersAdvanced Excel skillsAbility to utilize EDW/BI systems to research, analyze, & report on large sets of data; knowledge of Looker, BigQuery, and MicroStrategy a plusPositive, professional, and timely communication with teams, supporting departments, vendors, and suppliersClearly and confidently express ideas, needs, and boundaries in a respectful mannerProactively plan and control time to efficiently deliver team prioritiesProven track record of meeting financial deadlines with complete accuracyTeam player with a positive attitude
