Job Summary:\rThe primary function of this position involves delivering great customer service while also accurately and expediously completing sales transactions on a computer register. Other duties include food and supply preparation, service, restocking and clean-up.\rThis position may also be required to work in other areas of the Nutrition and Food Services Department to ensure the successful completion of patient meal service.\rCore Responsibilities and Essential Functions:\rEnsures Sales Transaction and Cash Handling Duties are Performed Efficiently and with Attention to Detail\rAdheres to all WellStar and department cash handling policies, mandatory training, etc.\rProactively demonstrates awareness of various customer needs.\rAccurately identifies all items included in a transaction.\rManages cash transactions and other various payment methods.\rEfficiently operates cash registers in a fast paced environment.\rCompletes detailed daily register procedures and reporting in an accurate manner.\rEnsures the Safety of Customers and Team Members (according to Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) and County Health Department Guidelines)\rWashes hands frequently and appropriately wears gloves.\rFollows infection prevention practices, including personal hygiene expectations (i.e., fingernail length and finish) and reports potential risks.\rMaintains all the work areas in a clean and organized manner; free of spills and fall hazards.\rMonitors and records food and/or equipment temperatures; immediately correcting/escalating out of range occurrences.\rStores food and/or supplies using proper labeling, dating and rotation methods.\rOperates equipment according to all safety guidelines and escalates any unsafe conditions (i.e., frayed electrical cords).\rEngages in Efforts to Create a World Class Work Environment\rFollows work areas uniform specifications, i.e., clothing and shoes are neat and clean.\rCollaborates with team members and Leadership to meet the goals and objectives of the Department and Hospital.\rCommunicates in a respectful manner and in terms that are clear and concise.\rRespects the cultural traditions of team members and customers.\rEnsures Positive Service Outcomes\rFollows department work schedule (including weekends and holidays) and arrives at the work station prior to task start time.\rSets up, maintains and breaks down workstation according to area requirements.\rFollows written and verbal instructions and station responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail.\rCompletes area checklists and forms.\rOperates and cares for equipment according to manufacturers and area specific guidelines.\rRemains flexible to support other team members across the department to achieve desired service outcomes.\rPerforms other duties as assigned\rComplies with all WellStar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.\rRequired Minimum Education:\rHigh school diploma or equivalent experience\r\rRequired Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):\rAll certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.\rAdditional License(s) and Certification(s):\rRequired Minimum Experience:\rof retail with customer interaction, cashiering preferred.\rRequired Minimum Skills:\rAbility to communicate and understand verbal and written English language and Math.\rAbility to operate a computer register.
