Position Summary

The Nursing Supervisor / Hospital Operations Coordinator (RN) is a dynamic hospital operations and clinical leadership role responsible for overseeing facility-wide administrative, clinical, and staff functions during assigned shifts. This role provides real-time operational oversight, clinical support, and rapid response across all hospital and long-term care units, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality care for adult and geriatric patients.

Key Responsibilities Clinical & Emergency Response

Conducts ongoing rounding, clinical monitoring, and resource support across all units

Performs rapid clinical assessments and triages emerging patient concerns

Recognizes subtle or early signs of patient deterioration and initiates escalation

Responds to all Rapid Response (RRT) and Code Blue events

Maintains active ACLS certification and supports ongoing staff education

Guides, educates, and mentors clinical teams in best practices and competency development

Participates in quality improvement initiatives, audits, and clinical evaluations

Care Coordination & Clinical Collaboration

Partners with unit teams to ensure safe, effective, and timely care delivery

Supports implementation and documentation of individualized care plans

Assists nursing staff with 24-hour patient reporting and clinical handoff accuracy

Helps identify patient needs, barriers to care, and staff development opportunities

Leadership & Shift Management

Serves as the on-site clinical and administrative leader for the entire facility during assigned shifts

Upholds hospital mission, policies, and professional nursing standards

Documents shift activity, incidents, interventions, and staffing concerns with accuracy

Ensures completion of supervisor shift reports and event documentation

Provides timely communication and follow-up on emergent and operational matters

Models professional accountability, sound judgment, and decisive leadership

Qualifications & Requirements Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) – required

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – preferred

Experience

3–5+ years of nursing leadership experience (Charge Nurse, Supervisor, or equivalent)

Licensure & Certifications

Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) License

BLS/CPR (American Heart Association)

ACLS Certification – required

Schedule

3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts)

Every weekend (Saturday & Sunday)

One additional weekday night shift
