Central Telemetry Monitoring

JOB SUMMARY:
 

Provides accurate cardiac rhythm surveillance through continuous monitoring of pediatric and/or adult telemetry patients. A standard procedure for rhythm observation and documentation is utilized, which contributes to positive patient outcomes for cardiac monitored patients.
 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Successful completion of an approved dysrhythmia course during first week of hire and must pass dysrhythmia test during first week of orientation

Previous monitor technician and clerical experience preferred.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensures continuous telemetry monitoring is established and documentation is maintained.

Ensures monitoring equipment is functioning correctly.

Ensures dysrhythmias or rhythm changes are communicated timely.

Maintains knowledge and skills related to dysrhythmia monitoring.

Participates in quality improvement projects.

Supports provision of age/developmental appropriate care in accordance with Age/Developmental Specific Care Guidelines for the age groups served.

Promotes efficient use of fiscal resources.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge of various dysrhythmias

Knowledge of medical terminology

Basic computer skills

Strong communication skills
