Job Summary:
Concordia College seeks a dedicated and experienced nursing faculty member with expertise in maternal/newborn and fundamentals nursing. This full-time position is primarily responsible for teaching the Maternal/Newborn course (course and clinical) and Fundamentals II course (course and lab). Additional teaching responsibilities may include introductory or fundamental nursing courses, based on departmental needs.

The Concordia College Nursing Program offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) for basic licensure, and an accelerated/second major program for individuals with an earned Bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing major. The mission of the nursing program is to influence the health of the world by sending into society compassionate, thoughtful, and informed baccalaureate-prepared professionals dedicated to the vocation of nursing. One of the largest academic departments on campus, the program consistently ranks among the top in the nation for its NCLEX-RN pass rates and maintains a strong reputation for preparation of its graduates for nursing practice and advanced education. The program is accredited by the Commission on College Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the MN Board of Nursing.
Position Responsibilities:
+ Coordinate and provide direct clinical instruction in maternal/newborn, critical care, and other specialty areas.
+ Demonstrate flexibility in teaching across different courses and clinical settings.
+ Deliver engaging, classroom-based instruction.
+ Advise students and contribute to their academic and professional development.
+ Participate in department and campus committees.
+ Engage in professional growth through research, scholarly activities, and dissemination of findings via publications and academic conferences.
+ Work collaboratively with other faculty and demonstrate respectful, effective communication
+ Assist with summer nursing courses as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in nursing (MSN) from an accredited institution.
+ Current, unencumbered RN licensure in Minnesota and North Dakota.
+ Teaching and clinical experience in maternal/newborn nursing with a willingness to teach across adult health nursing.
+ Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
+ A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and service.
+ Alignment with the mission and values of a liberal arts college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Doctoral degree (PhD, DNP, EdD) or ABD (All But Dissertation) status strongly preferred.
+ Candidates without a terminal degree will receive a fixed-term appointment, with the possibility of conversion to tenure-eligible upon degree completion.
+ FNP certification is a plus.

The final salary will be determined based on factors such as education, experience, skills, certifications, and alignment with the position's requirements. Other considerations may include internal equity and market conditions.
