Externship Details:

Timeframe: 8-week experience starting Monday, June 1st, 2026, and ending Friday, July 24th, 2026Opportunity for continued employment after the externship as a per diem Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, or Secretary/TechnicianShifts: May include days, nights, and weekends (must be flexible)Work requirement: Three 12-hour or five 8-hour shifts working side by side with preceptor(s). Shift times may vary depending on unit placement. Vacation time: Vacation is not permitted during this 8-week period.Pay: Bi-weekly paycheck at a rate of $18.50/hour

Under the guidance of a certified preceptor, externs will be able to:

Observe the professional role of the Registered Nurse Learn and enhance critical thinking skillsBuild confidence by practicing and delivering basic nursing care, skills, and competencies Develop nursing and time-management skills
