Description
Part-time position: 8-10 hours per week, flexible shifts, Daytime shift 9a-3p and Evening shift is 4p-8p$49 - $50 per hour MAIN FUNCTION:
+ To assist in maintaining the highest quality of care to all patients.
+ Understanding of Addiction, Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT), and the stigmatism associated with terminology and treatment of addiction and MAT.
+ To act as health coordinator.
+ User role(s) information systems access as assigned, where applicable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Document all pertinent nursing care matters in client’s EMR.
+ Provide Nursing Assessment and consultation to perspective and actual patients.
+ Maintain records of all infection control matters pertaining to patients and/or staff.
+ Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
+ Maintain log (if applicable) for medications or other solutions (ie., PPD solution, Naltrexone, Buprenorphine) stored at facility along with destruction/expiration information.
+ Assure the provision of education, risk reduction, counseling and referral services to all patients regarding HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases and other communicable diseases.
+ Follow universal precautions and utilize the appropriate infection control measures.
+ Supervise samesex urine sample collection for toxicology.
+ Administer breathalyzer and alcohol swabs.
+ Attend job related meetings and inservice lectures.
+ Inform office manager of general office and medical supplies as needed.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
+ Perform Admission Nursing Assessment and make appropriate nursing diagnoses based on that assessment.
+ Assess client’s psychiatric history and current psychiatric status.
+ Administer medications as ordered by the physician (MAT programs), understand basic pharmacology, planting and reading of PPDs (intradermal skin test).
+ Proficient in basic nursing skills and competent in taking an electrocardiogram and blood pressure.
+ Age specific clinical skills related to the adolescent and geriatric client.
+ Proficient in computer usage including EMR system, Microsoft Outlook and other information systems.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure, CPR certification.
