The Division of Internal Medicine at Albany Medical College is seeking a full-time experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient, academic clinic. This role focuses on delivering high-quality primary care to an established patient population while working closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other members of an interdisciplinary care team.This is an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner who values collaborative practice, continuity of care, and involvement in education and quality improvement initiatives.
Position Overview
The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients in an outpatient Internal Medicine setting. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, and teamwork within an academic environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive primary care services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing management of acute and chronic conditionsConduct patient visits, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications in accordance with scope of practiceManage preventive care, health maintenance, and patient educationCollaborate closely with attending physicians, nursing staff, and care coordinatorsParticipate in interdisciplinary collaboration, including quality improvement initiatives with the pharmacy teamDocument care accurately and timely in the electronic medical recordContribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvementParticipate in academic activities, including the potential to precept Nurse Practitioner studentsQualifications
Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner programLicense and active registration as a registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York StatePrior experience in primary care or Internal Medicine strongly preferredStrong clinical, communication, and organizational skillsInterest in academic practice, teaching, and collaborative care modelsCommitment to patient-centered, high-quality careWe offer a highly competitive benefits package, including:
