Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patient. Works in partnership with other staff members and physicians to proactively identify and provide for patient needs in accordance with LifeBridge Health customer service standards and expectations along with The Joint Commission's standards and expectations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Initiates communication resulting in efficient delivery of patient care. Participates in the development, implementation and presentation of ongoing educational and patient care programs utilizing the nursing process. Coordinates assignments of preceptors for new personnel and provides clinical guidance and support as needed. Serves as a preceptor when required. Oversees and participates with assignments and monitors work of designated staff. Serves as clinical resource person to nursing staff, physicians, and other health care team members with regard to nursing practices/techniques and issues of concern in assigned area. Provides direct and indirect patient care optimizing patient safety. Communicates pre-operative/pre-procedure instructions to patient. Assists in formulating, evaluating and revising guidelines for clinical practice, policies, procedures, protocols, etc. Orients and trains assigned staff on revised policies, procedures and processes. Assists with nursing care of patients within assigned area when required. Monitors patterns and trends in patient care problems by reviewing incident reports, patient charts, clinical observations, etc., in assigned area; initiates interventions in collaboration with physician/provider. Triages patient call; assesses and makes recommendation to physician for follow-up treatment. Documents follow-up care and instructions in patient record. Reviews patient laboratory and other clinical results to ensure timely follow-up and review by physician/provider. Identifies abnormal results and alerts physician/provider. Timely completion of medical records on the date of the encounter. Sending communication to the referring provider on the date of service. Timely responses to Cerner patient communication and email preferably the same day but not more than 24 hours (weekday) from the time of communication.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing Licenses/Certification: * Registered Nurse License - Current Maryland license or eligibility to obtain Maryland license, American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR Experience: 1-3 years of experience,
