Queen’s North Hawai‘i Community Hospital is a 35-bed rural acute care hospital located in Waimea (Kamuela) on Hawai‘i Island. Our team of more than 300 employees and a dozen physicians provides high-quality care to the community through our main hospital and outpatient clinics located across Waimea.

**Position Highlights**
This role offers a unique opportunity for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist seeking an independent practice environment with strong support from within the health system.
+ **Single-tech site** that allows for independent work while maintaining access to system-wide resources and expertise.
+ **Monday–Friday, day shift** schedule with **no weekends, holidays, or call requirements** .
+ Suitable for both **new graduates** and **experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologists** .

**Job Summary**
+ Prepares patients for Nuclear Medicine studies and performs high-quality diagnostic scans in accordance with established standards, procedures, and protocols.
+ Monitors, maintains, and troubleshoots equipment; reports issues as needed.
+ Ensures the cleanliness and organization of the work area; provides coverage as needed.
+ Participates in teaching and instructional activities.
+ May care for patients of all ages, requiring the ability to respond appropriately to varying developmental and clinical needs.
**Typical Physical Demands**
+ **Essential:** standing, sitting, walking, bending, lifting/carrying up to 30 lbs; pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs; repetitive wrist/arm movement.
+ **Occasional:** kneeling, squatting, twisting, reaching at various levels.
+ Operates dose calibrator, gamma camera, survey meters, well counter, thyroid uptake probe, computer, copier, fax, and phone.
**Typical Working Conditions**
+ Minimal exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
+ Potential exposure to communicable diseases, chemicals, radioactive materials, and radiation.
+ Required PPE includes OR gowns, masks, gloves, and leaded protective equipment.
+ _Note:_ This position does **not** require on-call, weekend, or holiday work.
**Minimum Qualifications**
**Education/Certification & Licensure**
+ Current Hawai‘i license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
+ Current BLS/HCP certification.
**Experience**
+ One (1) year of Nuclear Medicine experience preferred.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, radiopharmaceutical administration, safety protocols, equipment operation, and communication with radiologists/physicians.
+ Strong critical thinking and communication skills.
