Caterpillar’s Autonomy & Automation Customer Success division is currently seeking a NPI Team Leader. In this role, you will lead an enterprise-wide functional team which manages all phases of the New Product Introduction (NPI) process supporting technology solutions within our mining business.
What You Will Do:
Leads activities defining NPI Program deliverables, scope, timelines and financial business case.Develops overall NPI program schedule considering customer and business requirements of all teams involved from product development to validation and value chain readiness.Creates, leads and coordinates NPI Gate Reviews and other stakeholder reviewsManages the NPI Program Team and keeps a close eye on any gaps to achieve program goals for time, cost, and quality.Acts as a link between all the teams involved in NPI Program execution to drive a consistent approach in gap resolutions and developing recommendation for leadership decisions.Ensuring that the necessary resources are in place to support the programs.Executing the NPI process within the NPI management tool and ensuring the NPI training for team members.Providing input to the multi-year Autonomy & Automation product strategy.Executing NPI programs to support the Autonomy & Automation product strategy.What Skills you will have:

Leads large, complex, multi-functional programs.Skilled in Caterpillar’s NPI process, cross-functional leadership, and phase-gate execution.Applies Six Sigma and CPI methodologies to improve quality, cost, and delivery.Oversees risk management, governance, reporting, and stakeholder alignment across integrated projects.Coaches project managers and drives program visibility through strong communication and controls.Planning (Tactical & Strategic)
Develops and executes tactical plans supporting major programs and NPI initiatives.Aligns resources, schedules, and budgets with broader business strategy.Integrates multi-functional planning across engineering, commercial, product support, field operations, supply chain, and finance.Basic Qualifications:
Degree from Accredited College or university technical degreeProven experience in the Mining and/or Construction Industry.Demonstrated progressive experience in technical (engineering) background managing global projects or programsAs a Top Candidate, you will also have:
Knowledge of the corporate NPI ProcessAbility to build solid, highly collaborative business relationshipsExcellent problem-solving skillsGood leadership and team management capabilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsStrong commercial, business, and engineering knowledgeAdditional Details:
This position requires work full-time in either Mossville, IL or Tucson, AZThis position requires working onsite five days a week.Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.Visa sponsorship is NOT available with this position.This position will require up to 10% travelSummary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
