**Job Title: Machine Operator**
**Job Description**
The Machine Operator will assist with the setup and operation of tandem rolling mill machinery. Responsibilities include installation and adjustment of rolls, threading up, first piece inspection, welding, and general clean up. The role involves utilizing precision measurement instruments and tape measure, performing basic shop math calculations, and setting up and operating wire machines with minimum supervision. The Machine Operator will also change over equipment, ensure product quality, and make necessary changes in operating conditions to maintain quality. Accurate data keeping and immediate correction of machine malfunctions are essential.
**Responsibilities**
+ Set up and operate tandem rolling mill machinery.
+ Install and adjust rolls, perform threading up, and conduct first piece inspection.
+ Utilize precision measurement instruments and perform basic shop math calculations.
+ Set up and operate wire machines with minimal supervision.
+ Change over equipment and ensure the quality of products.
+ Perform necessary tests and measurements to ensure products meet required specifications.
+ Maintain accurate product data and records.
+ Correct or adjust machine malfunctions immediately to ensure production continuity.
+ Report major machine malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
+ Inspect products continually while performing other duties.
+ Maintain a clean and safe work area.
+ Assist in other duties as directed.
**Essential Skills**
+ Machine operating, production, and manufacturing experience.
+ Ability to read measurements using tape measures, micrometers, and calipers.
+ Mechanically inclined and forklift operation experience.
+ High school diploma or GED.
+ 6+ months of heavy manufacturing experience required.
+ Ability to read a tape measure and lift up to 60lbs throughout the shift.
+ Capability to complete all job tasks safely with a safety mindset.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Prefer 6+ months of machine operation experience.

**Work Environment**
This role involves heavy manufacturing and is labor-intensive. The work environment is not temperature-controlled, being hot in the summer and cold in the winter, especially in areas with induction furnaces. Employees must wear steel-toe boots and safety glasses. Shifts include: 1st Shift from 8am-4pm, 2nd Shift from 4pm-12am, 3rd Shift from 12am-8am, or rotating A, B, C, D shifts with varying hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orrville, Ohio.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.70 - $22.07/hr.
