Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Non Destructive (NDT) Test Technician – Level 3 or Level 4 to join our team in Magna, UT.
In this job, you will:
This job primarily performs non-destructive testing (NDT) radiographic inspections (RT) on composite rocket motors.
Inspects composite materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods with radiographic techniques.
Requires certifications in RT Non-Destructive testing in accordance with regulations.
In house part and material inspections are periodically performed using ultrasonic (UT), liquid penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), and eddy current (ET) inspection methods.
These inspections can be in different locations including confined space locations.
Other duties as assigned
This position can be filled at either a Level 3 or Level 4.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.
No clearance required to start
1+ years of documented hours as an NDT Level 2 inspector in at least two NDT methods; in order of preference: Radiography (RT), Ultrasound (UT), Eddy Current (ET), Dye Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT). RECORDS REQUIRED
NAS410 qualified Level 2 classroom training/experience, or equivalent, in radiographic methodology, either in progress or completed.
Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, and lifting up to 50lbs.
Must be willing to work a rotating schedule between day and night shift.
Willing to occasionally work overtime and flexible/changing schedules including weekends as required to meet schedule demands.

3+ years of documented hours as an NDT Level 2 inspector in at least two NDT methods; in order of preference: Radiography (RT), Ultrasound (UT), Eddy Current (ET), Dye Penetrant (PT), Magnetic Particle (MT). RECORDS REQUIRED

Preferred Qualifications:
Radiographic and Liquid Penetrant Level 2 certifications. Primary methods for this location.
Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Mag Particle Level 2 certifications.
Experience and familiarity with inspection/interpretation of engineering requirements.
Experience working with automated radiographic inspection systems.
Experience with handheld UT pulse echo units (USM GO, USN 60) and or phased array (MX2, Veo).
Experience with eddy current weld and aluminum tubing inspections (NORTEC 500).

Primary Level Salary Range: $57,500.00 - $95,900.00Secondary Level Salary Range: $68,300.00 - $113,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
