Job summary: This is a structured, short-term role suited to an experienced maternity nurse who is confident supporting older babies, particularly around sleep development, routine, and settled overnight care. This private family household are seeking maternity nurse support for their first baby, now 4 months old. The family have had support in place previously, which is coming to an end, and are looking for continuity and professional guidance during this next stage. The primary focus of the role is overnight care and supporting the development of positive sleep habits. Mum and dad would like to work towards more self-settling – positive crib-based settling and longer stretches of night sleep, with guidance that is supportive and appropriate to the baby’s age. The working pattern is specific and requires flexibility. The core requirement is six shifts per week, Sunday through Friday morning. Ideally the shifts are typically overnight (approximately 7.00pm–7.00am), with extended cover on Thursday and Friday, which may involve earlier starts (from 5.00pm) and/or full-day cover through to Saturday morning until April. The family are open to practical solutions for these longer days, including extended shifts, where appropriate.
