Night Shift Lead Plant Technician Schedule: 7 Nights On / 7 Nights Off This role includes all responsibilities of a Plant Technician, with additional leadership and accountability for night shift operations. The Night Shift Lead Plant Technician serves as the on-shift owner of safe operations, people coordination, shift handoffs, and performance results during overnight hours. Top 5 Responsibilities 1. Safely Execute and Lead Plant Operations Perform and lead all core Plant Technician operational duties, including blending, loading, unloading, material handling, and inventory movements, while ensuring all night shift work is completed safely, compliantly, and according to standard operating procedures. Operate independently as the senior on-shift decision maker. 2. Ensure Quality, Accuracy, and Compliance Ensure all night shift production meets quality, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Verify accuracy of blends, documentation, and processes while reinforcing compliance expectations with all night shift technicians. 3. Lead, Coordinate, and Support Night Shift Technicians Assign work, prioritize tasks, and supervise night shift plant technicians to ensure efficient use of time, equipment, and resources. Provide coaching, troubleshooting, and real-time guidance to maintain productivity and accountability during overnight hours. 4. Own Shift Change, Communication, and Performance Metrics Take full ownership of all shift change duties, including reviewing prior handoffs, documenting night shift activities, and completing a thorough, accurate transition to the day shift. Track, document, and report night shift metrics such as production output, downtime, safety observations, and exceptions. 5. Maintain Plant Readiness, Housekeeping, and Asset Stewardship Ensure the plant, equipment, and work areas are clean, organized, stocked, and operationally ready at all times. Perform basic troubleshooting, preventive care, and housekeeping to ensure the facility is fully prepared for day shift operations.   Minimum Requirements – Night Shift Lead Plant Technician + Experience as a Plant Technician or similar role in a production/manufacturing environment, specifically fluids in the oil and gas industry.  + Ability to work independently as the on-shift lead for overnight operations + Strong commitment to safety, quality, and following standard operating procedures + Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and professionalism + Ability to coordinate work, prioritize tasks, and support other technicians on shift + Clear communication skills, including completing accurate shift documentation and handoffs + Attention to detail in production accuracy, housekeeping, and plant readiness + Willingness to coach and train peers and step in to solve problems as they arise + Working knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) for processing transactions, tracking inventory, and maintaining accurate production records What we offer in Benefits + Health Insurance + Dental Insurance + Vision Insurance + STD/LTD Insurance + Paid time off + 401k Powered by JazzHR
