**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing building system operations and the performance of various areas including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling.
This job is part of the Engineering and Technical Services job function. They are responsible for providing support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on equipment and systems.
**Rotating Night Shift Schedule:** 6:00 PM–6:00 AM or 6:30 PM–6:30 AM, with work required every other weekend.
**What You’ll Do**
Perform maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, and mechanical systems including UPS, CRAH, VAVs, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and generators.
Complete assigned work orders and conduct daily rounds to survey equipment and ensure efficient performance.
Maintain and troubleshoot building systems using tools such as BMS, UPMS, ICMS, and PLCs, including platforms like Siemens, JCI, Schneider, Cummins, and Honeywell.
Align with all applicable codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and safety.
Support the energy management program to ensure systems operate efficiently.
Assist in implementing and executing preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
Respond to emergency repair needs and perform break-fix repairs as required.
Conduct inspections of building systems including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing to ensure compliance with design specifications and environmental standards.
Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems and provide innovative solutions.
Mentor and coach team members, sharing expertise across multiple disciplines.
Lead by example and promote CBRE RISE values in daily operations.
Collaborate across teams to impact customer service, operational efficiency, and project outcomes.
Work within broad guidelines and policies, and communicate effectively on sensitive or complex issues.
**What You’ll Need**
+ High School Diploma or equivalent experience, GED, or trade school diploma with 4–5 years of demonstrated experience in data center operations, industrial maintenance, HVAC, or electrical systems. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
+ Universal CFC certification preferred; EPA certification is a plus but not required.
+ Prior shift management or supervisory experience is preferred.
+ Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including lifting 50 lbs+, climbing ladders, and standing/walking for extended periods.
+ Strong judgment and analytical skills with the ability to evaluate multiple sources of information.
+ Willingness to approach challenges with a fresh perspective and contribute to continuous improvement.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
+ Strong organizational skills and an inquisitive mindset.
+ Solid math skills, including the ability to calculate percentages, fractions, and perform financial-related calculations.
