What you will have an opportunity to do:
The role of the Night Auditor involves auditing the daily guest ledgers and handling the duties of both the front desk and the accounting department. The responsibilities include but are not limited to balancing daily reports and receipts for the rooms and restaurants, checking hotel guests in and out, and all evening guest inquiries. The Night Auditor must ensure the accuracy of all charges to the guest folios. Additional responsibilities include:
Post and balance charges in a timely and efficient manner
Run various reports for the accounting department
Complete and input with accuracy all night audit reports
Make room reservations and provide information and services to guests
Ensure that Chatham Bars Inn Service Standards (Forbes, Preferred Legend and AAA) are adhered to
Present a professional appearance
Handle all guest complaints and comments relating to the department tactfully
Ensure that the standards are continuously refreshed, maintained and used effectively
Cooperate and coordinate teamwork with other departments
Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Front Office or Director of Operations
Requirements:
Must have a valid driver’s license
Previous night auditor experience preferred
Superior customer service skills
Demonstrated leadership skills
Ability to understand and carry out instructions
Ability to multi-task
Experience in Opera systems preferred
Strong attention to detail and organization
Basic math and accounting skills necessary
Excellent computer skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to work overnight hours – 11pm – 7am
