As a Newborn Hearing Technician you will:
• Evaluate and prioritize infants to be screened before being discharged from the hospital
• Perform automated hearing screening tests
• Document screening test results
• Utilize appropriate baby handling skills
• Recognize problems with screening equipment, troubleshoot as necessary and report any recurrent or unresolved problems
• Recognize potential problems with infant and report problems to physician
• Monitor inventory of supplies and report supply needs to program coordinator. • Maintain appropriate supply levels with screening equipment.
Qualifications include:
• High School education and diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience preferred but not required
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Prior experience with newborns is preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish Strongly preferred
• Good written and verbal communication; basic computer skills
Work Schedule:
• Employment Type: Variable Part-time
• Hours per Week: 4-8 hrs./week
• Typical Daily Schedule: Every other Saturday & Sunday 8:30am-12:30pm with the possibility of working weekdays occasionally
• Shift Type: Day Shift
• Weekend Requirements: Required every other weekend rotation
• Holiday Requirements: Yes, if it falls on your weekend to work
• Shift Differential Eligible: Yes
Pay Range:
$18.40 - $23.48If the salary range is not displayed or if the position is Per Diem (with a fixed rate), salary discussions will take place during the screening process.
