Summary
The New Product Integration (NPI) Manager III oversees and is responsible for operations based, strategy, planning and execution of new product launches in conjunction with the program management office. Responsible for defining, developing and executing all program level plans focused on operations to successfully meet all phases of the program. This includes product cost, quality, manufacturing, tooling, test, supply chain and logistics. Can act as mentor to other NPI Managers. The NPI Manager's primary goal is to be the central focal point & authority for multiple programs going into initial production and to drive and ensure flawless transition of product-specific deliverables from design into manufacturing meeting or exceeding program objectives.
Position Responsibilities
Support or lead in the development of NPI program planning and estimating for a complex Programs. Manages all aspects of planning multiple NPI Program plansEnsures site factories/Functional Operations organizations are adequately executing efforts to meet program objectives Successful operations strategy of larger scope programs, varying in complexity, planning, support and execution of criticalnew products integrating into production environmentOversee operational tasking, deliverables, budget and schedule associated with manufacturing readiness and manufacturing maturationEnsure a smooth transition from development into operationsMonitors data across multiple NPI programs establishing correlation. Publishes data to support improvements in product development and customer relationsResponsible for both internal and external NPI performance objectives, including, cost, schedule, technical and performanceResponsible for product operations strategies, business cases, and NPI execution related to product portfolio managementMust support the rollout, standardizing and continuous improvement of NPI processes, plans, metrics, built into the product development and launch frameworkLead program meetings and program reviews with the customer and executive staffLeads and supports complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factorsDetermines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnelOther duties as assignedBasic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)
Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering related field is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and ExperienceMinimum of 12 – 15 years' experience in New Product Introduction, Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing Supply Chain, Program Management or other related function, combined with leadership or Management responsibilitiesProven track record of leading multiple, concurrent programsProficient in EACs/Risk/Opportunity Management/Gate Review processesProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)Strong knowledge of Project Management methods, tools and processesMust be able to interface effectively with internal teams as well as government and commercial customersA strong communicator able to articulate vision/mission to teamOther competencies: Strong verbal and written skills; analytical and strategic thinking ability; leadership skills; very strongwork ethic as well as honesty, trustworthiness and high integrityAbility to adeptly use influence without authority in a matrix organizational structureUnderstanding of partnering between Program Management and Operations/ManufacturingExceptional ability to build relationships; data-driven and willing to take action; enthusiastic and motivated; and detailed while managing several work-streamsAbility to travel within the Continental U.S. up to 25%Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

$136,807 - $194,040AeroVironment considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the location, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
ITAR Requirement:
This position requires access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”).
