Job Summary:
We are seeking a warm, capable, and experienced Mother’s Help / Nanny-Housekeeper to join a friendly, well-run private household with three school-aged children (ages 7, 4, and 3). This is a hands-on, varied role combining high-quality childcare with practical household support, ideal for someone confident and genuinely happy to muck in. Childcare is the priority, with responsibilities including busy morning routines, school drop-offs and pick-ups, homework support, and managing mealtimes and bedtimes, alongside cooking, light housekeeping, laundry, and general family assistance during school hours.
The family is looking for an experienced candidate who enjoys being fully involved in family life and can adapt to a fast-paced, shared-care environment. You will work closely with a hands-on mother and other household staff, contributing to an organised and positive home. The role is full-time and includes live-in or live-out accommodation (a self-contained two-bedroom cottage). A driving licence is essential, travel with the family during school holidays (around six weeks per year) is required.
General Duties:
Provide attentive, nurturing care for three school-aged children Manage morning routines, including getting children ready for school Drive children to and from school and activities (driver essential) Support homework, reading, and age-appropriate learning Encourage social, creative, and physical development through play and activities Confidently manage mealtimes, bath time, and bedtime routines Act as a reliable extra pair of hands to support a hands-on mother Assist with cooking and meal preparation for the family when needed Support light housekeeping and work alongside the housekeeper Keep communal areas tidy and well organised Run errands and assist with ad-hoc family tasks Proactively look for ways to help when childcare duties are lighter Travel with the family during school holidays when required
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience as a Mother’s Help, Nanny-Housekeeper, or similar role Confident and experienced with school-aged children Comfortable setting boundaries and managing routines, including bedtime Adaptable and happy to work beyond a strict job description Strong skills in cooking, housekeeping, and general household support Organised and able to take initiative Presentable and discreet. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset Driving licence essential Open to travel with the family
