Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer
Vontier
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor network and system alerts using NOC tools (e.g., SolarWinds, ELK.).
• Perform initial analysis and troubleshooting for alerts and escalate issues as needed.
• Coordinate with internal infrastructure, application teams and service providers for
resolution of incidents.
• Track and document all issues and resolutions using ticketing systems (ServiceNow).
• Maintain incident records and generate operational reports
• Maintain and optimise the NOC monitoring tools (ELK or other tools in use)
• Provide updates to Leadership team as required
• Ensure uptime, performance, and security of all critical infrastructure systems.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders and participate in incident response and post-mortem
analysis.
• Maintain runbooks, documentation, and NOC standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Available as required and participate in on-call support, as required.
o Knowledge in service now ticketing systems and ITIL process
o Understanding of patching and good server patching experience
o Liase with third party vendors for any OS issues
o Coordinate with ISP/Customers for link issues
o Network devices monitoring and initial checks
o Knowledge on network fundamentals
o Certified in Microsoft technologies preferred
o Degree in Computers preferred (Preferably Engineering degree holders).
o Good communication (Verbal and Written) skills which helps in the smooth
interaction with users.
o Good team player and able to follow team policies and processes.
o Knowledge in Cloud services like Amazon, Windows Azure, VMWare is needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certifications like CCNA, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
• Scripting or automation experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Adaptability to changing technologies and environments.
• Collaboration with other teams and own issues and take responsibilities field.
• 2- 4 years’ experience in a NOC or technical support environment.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN, BGP, OSPF).
• Familiarity with monitoring tools and network troubleshooting techniques.
• Experience with ticketing and incident management tools.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work /handle a 24x7 environment and handle pressure situations
