What You Will Do:

The Network Infrastructure Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring the stability, security, availability, and efficiency of Firelands’ IT infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity operations in support of 24/7 clinical services and business continuity. This position oversees the design, implementation, and ongoing support of core infrastructure services while ensuring they align with organizational goals, evolving healthcare technology needs, cybersecurity requirements, and industry best practices. In this role, the Network Infrastructure Manager provides leadership and direction to a team of IT professionals while partnering closely with Information Technology leadership, clinical stakeholders, operational departments, and vendors to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure technology services. The scope of responsibility includes enterprise infrastructure across all data center and disaster recovery sites, physical and virtual platforms, server and operating system environments, storage and backup services, wired and wireless LAN/WAN connectivity, telecommunications systems, and the secure configuration and protection of these environments. This role also plays a key part in advancing Firelands’ Service Management strategy based on ITIL principles, with accountability for major portions of infrastructure and security-related selection, design, development, implementation, upgrades, and support that directly impact patient care delivery and health system operations. The Network Infrastructure Manager coordinates and communicates across teams, establishes standards and operational processes, and ensures staff with diverse backgrounds and skill sets are supported in delivering consistent, secure, and high-performing services.

 Develops and executes infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity strategies that align with organizational goals, operational needs, and long-term technology roadmaps. Monitors, maintains, and analyzes infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity environments on an ongoing basis; performs routine operational reviews and reporting, supports audit preparedness and evidence collection, and coordinates remediation tracking in alignment with applicable compliance requirements and organizational policies. Maintains awareness of current developments and best practices in Information Technology, networking, telecommunications, cybersecurity, and healthcare technology; reviews job-related publications and expands knowledge through training, peer collaboration, and cross-functional exposure. Participates in departmental performance improvement initiatives as assigned and completes required training, education, and compliance activities. Leads, coaches, and mentors a team of IT professionals (including network, systems, and security-focused staff as applicable) to ensure consistent, reliable, and efficient service delivery. Designs, plans, and implements scalable, resilient, and secure infrastructure solutions across network, compute, storage, identity, and related services. Ensures the integrity, availability, and security of internal and external network components and supporting infrastructure platforms, maintaining compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and best practices. Provides oversight of cybersecurity controls within infrastructure and network environments, including establishing secure configuration standards, managing access controls, prioritizing vulnerability remediation, supporting monitoring and detection capabilities, and driving risk-based remediation to reduce organizational exposure. Contributes to the management of infrastructure and network services budgets by forecasting needs, allocating resources, and identifying cost-effective solutions that support both projects and daily operations. Leads infrastructure, network, and cybersecurity-related projects end-to-end, coordinating efforts across internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and successful delivery. Leads infrastructure and security response activities during major incidents and security events, ensuring rapid restoration of services, clear communication to stakeholders, and root-cause resolution. What You Will Need: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five (5) years of progressive experience in network/infrastructure operations with increasing responsibility, including at least two (2) years in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Desirable experience includes: Implementation and ongoing support of server and client virtualization technologies (VMware); enterprise storage and backup technologies; networking technologies (Cisco, Brocade, Juniper, etc.) and VPN/remote access solutions; and cybersecurity practices supporting infrastructure and network operations (e.g., secure configuration standards, access controls, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and incident response support). Preferred certifications include ITIL Foundation (or equivalent), relevant networking and infrastructure certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, VMware VCP), and/or cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP/CISM). Detail and results oriented with strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, including the ability to lead, motivate, coach, and hold staff accountable while promoting a culture of operational excellence and cybersecurity awareness. Demonstrates willingness to respond to after-hours calls, work overtime and/or a non-standard work schedule as operational needs require.
