**Job Title:** Network Infrastructure Engineer – Data Center & Automation **Location:** Herndon, VA (Onsite, 5 days/week) **Duration:** 6 Months (Contract) **Pay Rate:** $45/hr. – $47/hr. (W2) **Schedule:** Monday – Friday | Standard Business Hours **Position Overview:** We are seeking a **Network Engineer II** with deep experience in large-scale network deployment, router platform design, and process automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for deploying and scaling network infrastructure across multiple global data centers, including both existing environments and greenfield locations. This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on innovation, automation, and high-availability network design. You will join the team responsible for Direct Connect Infrastructure deployments—working to deliver efficient, low-cost, and scalable solutions. If you have a background in network hardware, routing protocols, and building highly scalable network architectures, we want to hear from you. **Top 3 Must-Have Skills:** 1. **Automation Scripting (Python)** 2. **Data Center Network Experience** 3. **Router Platform Experience** **Key Responsibilities:** + Deploy, scale, and automate network infrastructure across multiple global data centers. + Lead efforts to scale network designs to meet customer demand and support expansion. + Develop and refine deployment processes to improve speed, quality, and consistency. + Collaborate with internal stakeholders to bring network designs from concept to production. + Define and implement network standards and ensure adherence across deployments. + Drive network changes, updates, and improvements in a live production environment. + Partner with automation teams to define and build scalable tools and frameworks. **Qualifications:** + 3–6 years of professional industry experience in network engineering. + Strong understanding of IP networking and protocols (IPv4 & IPv6). + Hands-on experience with routing protocols such as **BGP** and **OSPF** . + Expertise with Cisco routing platforms (e.g., Cisco 37xx, 49xx, 65xx, 73xx, 76xx). + Experience with data center networks and large-scale deployments. + Deep troubleshooting skills and a solid foundation in network analysis. **Preferred Skills & Technologies:** + Scripting and automation skills in **Python** (required). + Experience with technologies such as DWDM, T1/DS1, DS3, SONET (OC3, OC48), VLANs/STP, TCP, HSRP/GLBP, PIMv2, IGMP, LDP, TACACS, IPSEC/VPNs, NetFlow, DNS, and HTTP. + Familiarity with Direct Connect Infrastructure or similar large-scale networking deployments is a plus.
