This role is 100% technical and focused on the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise network, security, and voice systems across local and wide area environments. The Network Engineer will play a critical role in building and enhancing network infrastructure—creating solutions rather than primarily supporting existing ones.  This position is responsible for engineering robust LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, and VoIP solutions, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience with multiple enterprise networking technologies and is comfortable making independent technical decisions, leading complex implementations, and shaping long-term network architecture. While this role does not have people-management responsibilities, it serves as a senior technical authority and mentor within the organization. Responsibilities:   Design, implement, and engineer LAN, WAN, wireless, firewall, and VoIP solutions to meet performance, scalability, and security requirementsCreate and configure network components including VLANs, routing, switching, and firewall policies, with an emphasis on new builds and architectural improvementsLead hands-on implementation of enterprise networking technologies such as switching, security appliances, wireless infrastructure, and unified communications platformsMonitor network performance, analyze traffic patterns, and proactively identify and resolve complex issues impacting availability or throughputPartner with cybersecurity teams to design secure network architectures, harden systems, and respond to vulnerabilities or security eventsDevelop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, standards, and build procedureEvaluate, recommend, and implement network hardware and software solutions aligned with business and technical needsSupport disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity planning from a network architecture perspectiveServe as a senior technical resource, providing guidance and knowledge sharing to other IT team membersCollaborate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to gather requirements and deliver effective network solutions Qualifications and Requirements:  Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experienceMinimum of five years of experience engineering and supporting medium-to-large enterprise network environmentsHands-on experience with at least two or more of the following technologies is required:CitrixMitelJuniperPalo AltoAruba (including ClearPass)Cisco switchingProven experience designing and implementing network solutions, including VLAN configuration, firewall creation, and traffic segmentationStrong understanding of enterprise networking concepts, including routing, switching, security, and unified communicationsExperience analyzing network traffic, diagnosing performance issues, and implementing long-term solutionsSolid knowledge of network security best practices and collaboration with security teamsAbility to work independently, make sound technical decisions, and own complex engineering efforts end-to-endStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document and explain technical designs clearlyPreferred certifications include Network+, CCNP, CCIE, Security+, or similar enterprise networking credentials Work Authorization & Employment Status Requirement: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The Pay Rate range for this position is $47.00 – $55.00 per hour, excluding benefits. Your final Pay Rate will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity.
