MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Network Administrator, the work you’ll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe by providing mission command support.

Provide pro-active network management of switches routers, and other ancillary devices to ensure a constant state of readiness and availability.

Ensure the network is properly configured and operating efficiently while maintaining constant network availability and 100% network uptime.

Schedule and perform preventative maintenance checks and services (PMCS) on a regularly scheduled basis and provide touch labor service support as needed.

Assist the Outside Plant/Inside Plant Network Engineer with plant cable management for multiple network classifications.

Assist the team with logistics support as required.

Assist the Collaboration Engineer with VOIP related tasks.

Providing technical training, documentation, and technical assistance to Help Desk personnel and other organizations.

Work closely with Help Desk personnel and vendors for upgrade/change device hardware and software.

Maintain - and potentially acquire - the certifications necessary to meet the evolving needs of the mission.

Other duties as assigned.


WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Network Administrator must have:

Education: Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree

Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated Network Engineering experience.

Technical skills: Knowledge and experience with routing and switching protocols (e.g. OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, Spanning Tree Protocol, ISAKMP, ESP, SIP, SCCP, etc.) Knowledge and experience with current Cisco IOS software and hardware features; Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Security clearance level: Must possess and maintain a Secret clearance

US citizenship required

Role requirements: A CCNA, CCNP or equivalent industry certification is required; Must meet DOD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access upon hire for positions with elevated privileges and must obtain ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire. Additional specific certifications may be required, depending on job assignment.

Must be able to pass German TESA requirements

Technical Expert Status Accreditation (TESA) in Germany requires a combination of education and experience: a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of specialized experience, an Associate’s degree with 7+ years of experience, or 11 years of experience without a degree.
