Job Title: Systems Administrator

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Systems Administrator to join our team. Your role will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining specialized computer systems to support our customers.

Responsibilities

Participate in the procurement, installation, configuration, and administration of specialized computer systems.Contribute significantly to system network and hardware design.Install hardware, networking, and operating systems.Troubleshoot system and network issues effectively.Develop integration strategies for on-premise and cloud-deployed systems, focusing on networking, security, and cost efficiency.Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions that meet customer requirements and align with corporate IT policies.Design systems that are technically competitive, cost-effective, reliable, and maintainable.Update and develop tools, processes, and best practices for continual improvement.Support and guide customers, development, and integration teams.Develop and maintain facility requirements specifications and installation plans.Maintain configuration control of all system components and support system audits.Provide in-service support for equipment at customer sites and in factory settings.

Essential Skills

Diploma or Degree in computer systems, computer science, Information Systems, or related fields with 5+ years of relevant experience.System Administration experience on Windows, Linux, and VMware.Experience with enterprise equipment and bespoke boards.Proficiency in command line interfaces for Windows and Linux.Knowledge of Active Directory Services, DHCP, DNS, and IIS.Experience with virtual environments and disaster recovery.Ability to install and configure firewalls and network switches.Proficiency with monitoring tools for troubleshooting.Physical ability to install equipment, including lifting and running cables.Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Willingness to travel for onsite diagnosis or deployment.Ability to work in teams and independently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience architecting complex systems in on-premise and cloud infrastructure.Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.Scripting skills with bash or Powershell.Experience with configuration management systems like Git.Knowledge of security frameworks and best practices.Experience with enterprise storage and backup systems.Operating system, network, or cloud platform certifications.Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.28/hr.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Richmond,BC.
