Job Title: NDT Inspector
Job Description

This role involves performing Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) to ensure the integrity and quality of materials and components. The VT Level II Inspector is responsible for visual weld inspection and other NDT methods to detect and evaluate defects or irregularities without damaging the test subjects. The inspector will collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to uphold high standards of quality and safety.

ResponsibilitiesPerform Visual Weld Inspection (VT) on production welds in accordance with applicable procedures and specifications.Conduct thorough inspections of materials and components to identify defects, irregularities, and compliance with specifications.Analyze and interpret test results to determine the presence, location, and severity of defects or inconsistencies.Maintain accurate and detailed records of NDT activities, including inspection reports, test results, and defect logs.Prepare and submit comprehensive inspection reports, highlighting key findings and non-conformities.Support and assist in the training and development of training materials and procedures.Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing NDT inspections.Ensure that all NDT activities are carried out in a safe and compliant manner, following company safety policies and industry regulations.Essential SkillsExpertise in multiple NDT methods such as Liquid Penetrant Test (PT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), and Ultrasonic Testing (UT).Proven experience in writing and reviewing NDT procedures, inspection plans, and technical reports.Strong knowledge of industry codes, standards, and specifications.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of materials science, metallurgy, and welding processes is preferred.Experience in a supervisory or managerial role within the NDT field is advantageous.Familiarity with NDT data analysis tools is beneficial.High school diploma or equivalent is required.Vocational training or a collegiate degree in NDT technology, materials science, or a related field is preferred.Previous NDT Level II VT certification or AWS Certified Welding Inspector (AWS CWI) is advantageous.Previous certifications in other NDT Methods (PT, MT, UT, ET) is a plus.2-5 years of experience in non-destructive testing, with proficiency in multiple NDT methods and techniques is desired.Entry-level candidates with 0-2 years of experience will be considered and are encouraged to apply.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

Work in a large, loud manufacturing environment with varying physical conditions. This role may require working 6-day work weeks at times, within a government facility. Standard hours are 7am-3:30pm. Personal protective equipment such as hard hats, safety glasses, and safety shoes are required. Tasks involve standing, walking, and using various measurement tools, with potential exposure to construction or industrial areas. Must be able to work in various physical positions, including sitting, standing, walking, and driving, possibly on irregular surfaces and at increased heights.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $37.00/hr.
