This position will be part of the Real-World Advocate DAta for Research (RADAR) team within the CTMC that focuses on the development of real-world electronic health record (EHR) longitudinal datasets, registries, the incorporation of external data, and contribution to active cohort development. We are seeking an experienced Biostatistician IV who excels in data management, team collaboration, and analytical workflows. This role focuses on building and maintaining registries, organizing projects, and supporting data-driven initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills in database querying, data wrangling, and reproducible reporting, along with experience working in collaborative environments using version control tools.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Master's degree in Biostatistics or Statistics or health-related field (e.g., Health Informatics, Epidemiology, Public Health) with seven years' experience in statistics. Experience in analyzing data using statistical package(s) and working with large datasets and databases required. Experience working with health-related data (e.g., EHR data, claims, registries, vital statistics) and healthcare/pharmaceutical environments preferred. Strong programming skills in R (including R Markdown, Python, and Shiny) and familiarity with Git for version control. Proven experience working with large datasets and databases (SQL proficiency and Snowflake experience desirable). Ability to organize workflows, manage projects, and collaborate effectively in team settings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Collaborates independently or as co-investigator with other investigators and project teams to develop objectives and data collection procedures to achieve objectives. This includes developing efficient workflows for data collection and reporting, which may include designing sampling and randomization schemes.

2. Assumes major responsibilities on research projects (e.g., Assisting in creating and maintaining registries and project databases/documentation, develop efficient workflows for data collection including directing data extractions, cleaning, and integration. Drafting methods for scientific protocols, planning and/or proposing staffing patterns, coordinating internal training sessions within the team).

3. Assumes leadership responsibilities on working groups, and research project teams including directing and/or supervising project personnel and coordinating quality control efforts with an emphasis on version control and reproducibility.

4. Designs analyses and report generation procedures for specific research studies or registries and writes statistical methods, data documentation, and results sections of reports and publications.

5. Develops statistical design and planned analyses for proposals and takes primary responsibility for statistical/methodological design, including sample size, and statistical considerations in proposals.

6. Applies for specific extramural grants and pharmaceutical contracts (e.g., NIH R-O3, private foundation).

7. Prepares scientific manuscripts, abstracts, white papers, and documentation for longitudinal datasets.

8. Makes oral presentations at internal/professional/scientific meetings, workshops, and seminar series.

9. Supervises the work of Biostatisticians I, II, III and Analyst/Programmers serving on the same projects.

10. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
